Frequently Asked Questions
What hardware do I need to use the modules?
NextWave’s VR training software requires a PC computer running Windows 7/8/10 with a minimum of NVIDIA GeForce GTX970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 video card and an HTC Vive VR system.
How do I access and use each training module?
With internet connection individual training modules can be downloaded remotely. They are launched and run via Steam VR.
Where can I use VR training?
It can be housed in a dedicated training space (at least 10′ x 10′) or be easily packed into a mobile training kit.
How many people can use the VR training at once?
Only one person can wear the VR headset at a time. By mirroring what is seen on a screen, an entire class can view the user’s progress and decision making in real time.
How much time is required to complete the VR training modules?
From 2 to 15 minutes, depending upon module and training objectives.
Do I need an instructor?
While we recommend the VR as an instructional tool to be used by a trainer, users can go through all modules independently and without oversight. All modules come with a user manual.
Do I need an IT team to setup?
Nope! NextWave provides comprehensive guides to walk our users through the setup process for the equipment, software, and the actual use of the VR system.
Can I substitute any other VR systems?
No. Currently, depending on modules, we support the HTC Vive VR system or the Oculus Go. Our future roadmap will support additional platforms.
